Our History

In July 2019 Benedex Ltd was founded by Snir Benedek. Originally an Aerospace engineer, Snir has had 20 years of R&D and commercial experience across a range of businesses specialising in machine design, the last decade being involved mostly with robotics. Despite modern tech and progress, it seemed that every time a new robot was being designed (which was becoming more and more frequent), its designers either had a whole new motion platform engineered for it to carry the payload, or bought a suitable ready-made robotic vehicle, which constrained their product and their creativity.
Benedex has therefore developed a patent pending flexible motion platform, which is usable off the shelf, from prototyping to serial manufacturing, that fits around any payload like a glove and does not constrain it the way a robotic vehicle would, yet affords it high performance and high reliability.

A year later, in September 2019, Benedex LTD was accepted into the Bristol Robotics Laboratory (BRL) a joint venture between the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England(UWE). The BRL was founded in 2006 and is an internationally recognised Centre of Excellence in Robotics.

In December 2020 Benedex was awarded a Technological Development Project (TDP) by the University of the West of England. Offered as part of the £1m, ERDF-funded SABRE Programme, the TDP will enable Benedex to collaborate with experienced engineers from the University’s Robotics Innovation Facility (RIFBristol) – part of the Bristol Robotics Laboratory.

In October 2020 Benedex was awarded substantial grant funding by the UK’s innovation agency, Innovate UK.

Benedex Ltd is now a team of talents in mechanical and electronic design, real-time software development, control engineering and robotics. The team has over 70 man years of experience in designing and manufacturing new robotic devices and is supported by an executive management board and advisory board with a record of technical, financial and commercial success.
